Today Apple launched the latest version of iOS for your iPhone or iPad. The iOS 14 update naturally contains many novelties that have been known for some time. There is also a very handy feature that is well hidden in your settings, but worth taking a closer look.
Apple already had a lot of news about it iOS 14 announced at the end of June at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WDC). This included the integration of widgets, picture-in-picture and the option to tag people in group conversations.
We had to wait until last Tuesday’s Apple Event for the rollout of the new operating system. There Tim Cook showed not only the latest Apple Watch and iPad, but also announced that iOS 14 would now actually be launched.
Back Tap
If you have a iPhone it is therefore advisable to download and install that update as soon as possible. Then you can immediately use a small, but very handy new function called ‘Back Tap’.
This allows you to perform certain actions faster by tapping twice or three times on the back of your iPhone. To set ‘Back Tap’, go to your settings. There you click on ‘Accessibility’, then on ‘Touch’ and then on ‘Tap on back’.
Here you can choose which function will be tapped twice or three times. For example, you can choose to take a screenshot or to silence your iPhone. You can also have Siri or notifications opened, for example. In addition, there are many other options.
To use this new function, you must have an iPhone 8 or a more recent device.
