The journalist denounces the fact that the proverbial goal posts are currently being moved while the game is in progress. “At first it is said that the number of infections is increasing, but that those people do not go to hospital, because they are mainly young people. Soon you will see the hospitals fill up, but it is said that the patients are allowed to leave the hospital after only three or five days. And when the intensive care unit fills up, it will be said that we can treat the disease better compared to March and April. ”
It makes the journalist, who says he has been living like a hermit for six months, angry that the current situation may last longer because others are not complying with the measures as well as he does. De Ceulaer fears that open letters, such as those from Annemans, “have not boosted the motivation of the population to comply with the measures”.
