The Avilés taxi will continue with the fleet reduction to 25%
Twenty-six taxis continue to operate in the city of Avilés despite having entered phase 2 of the de-escalation.
This reduction in the fleet is a consequence of the lack of users due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus.
The City Council of Avilés, through the Department of Mobility, issued a decree on April 20 in which the service was reduced by 75%.
In this way, of the 101 taxi licenses, a quarter remained operational daily, excluding the two corresponding to adapted vehicles.
Phase 2 already allows mobility between municipalities and has put an end to time slots, but travelers are still reluctant to use the taxi, who have not noticed the increase in trips.
On the other hand, the two adapted taxi licenses in the city have been coordinated in such a way that they have provided their services on alternate days to ensure demand.
