Tesla produces cars that some love and others hate. The undisputed fact, however, is their quality of workmanship and customer service at authorized services. This is another case where miracles happen with Tesla cars. This time it’s about a broken piece of the roof from the latest Tesla Model X.
Tesla and its build quality
The electric SUV is considered the most unreliable vehicle with the Tesla logo. Often it is the Model X that is considered guilty for the unreliable label that Elon Musk received. It is not difficult to see why.
Bumpers falling off while driving, or water leaks caused by problems with sticking the windshield to the body frame. To make matters worse, however, a new problem has emerged that affects not only Model X owners, but also drivers behind a large electric SUV. It turns out that fragments of the roof can unexpectedly… fly away from the car.
The last story can be found on Facebook and the Reddit forum. We have no doubt that there have been more such stories, but they have not been reported anywhere. This time, the problem is directly related to the safety of other drivers.

The son of the owner of Tesla Model X described the situation in detail. The worst part is that when they tried to repair it under warranty, Tesla’s authorized service center said it was “normal wear and tear”. The woman had to pay … 2,200 dollars (8,200 zlotys) for a new rubber seal !.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case, and we can easily find examples of sagging roof sections in other cars on the internet. One of the forum members described how in the rear view mirror he saw a part falling off, which hit the driver behind him. Yet another Tesla Model X driver heard something flying over his car. It wasn’t until the next morning that he noticed what the problem was.
Does Tesla intend to carry out any service action in this case? After all, hitting a piece of the roof is not pleasant. Glass is a heavy part and can damage other vehicles as well as passengers.
