Apple announces the eighth generation iPad – iPad

During the Time Flies event, Apple announced the new eighth generation “budget” iPad, which replaces the previous seventh generation iPad 10.2.

The general design of the new model is almost identical to that adopted with the previous generation, while on the performance side there will be a nice generational leap, going from an A10 chip to a chip A12 Bionic. Thanks to the use of this chip, the Neural Engine arrives for the first time on a budget iPad. Apple says the A12 chip offers more than double the performance of the best-selling Windows laptop, is six times faster than the best-selling Android tablet, and six times faster than the best-selling Chromebook.

The rest of the specifications remain almost identical to the previous generation, so we will always have a 10.2-inch Retina display with Apple Pencil support, a FaceTime HD front camera, an 8 megapixel rear camera, Touch ID integrated in the Home button, Smart Connector and compatibility with the Smart Keyboard. Also for this model there will be the possibility to choose between the Wi-Fi only variant and the LTE one. The memory cuts remain unchanged, namely 32 and 128 GB.

The new eighth generation iPad will maintain the same starting price as the seventh generation, 389 euros, and the same colors, space gray, silver and gold. It will be available for order starting today on the Apple’s site, with availability from Friday.
