Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has agreed on a new contract with London’s Arsenal. The club signed up for another three years. The 31-year-old shooter from Gabon was to expire his current contract after this season.
All Fans of Gunners can breathe a sigh of relief. The saga, which lasted several months, seems to be successfully over. Aubameyang’s agreement with Arsenal was reported by Sky Sports.
“I never doubted that I would make a deal with the club and sign a new contract. I want to thank our fans, but also our teammates, family and everyone here, for feeling so great here that I feel like I belong here.” said Aubameyang.
He transferred to Arsenal in January 2018 from Dortmund and during the first complete season in England he became the top scorer of the Premier League with 22 goals. He scored a total of 72 goals in 111 competitive matches for the North London team. In August, he helped the “Gunners” to win the FA Cup. “I believe in Arsenal. I’m convinced that we can achieve great things together. There’s something exciting and I think the best is yet to come.” said Aubameyang.
“It’s great that Pierre stays with us. It was very important for the whole club. He’s not only an amazing player, but also a major team leader.” added manager Mikel Arteta.
