Football professional Toni Leistner from Hamburger SV had a fight with a Dresden fan in the stands after his club lost 4-1 in the 1st DFB Cup round at Dynamo Dresden.
A private video shows how Leistner attacked a man in the stands and pushed him to the ground before fans and stewards around him defused the situation and pushed Leistner back. He then jumped from the stands back into the stadium.
According to his statements, the reason for Leistner’s freak was provocations by a Dynamo supporter at the beginning of an interview with the pay-TV channel Sky. “I will not be insulted by my family,” said the 30-year-old after coming down from the stands. After further insults, the defender broke off the second interview attempt.
“I didn’t notice anything and only saw that Toni Leistner had started the way back from the stands. Something must have happened in advance, but I can’t rate it because I haven’t seen any pictures of what it started, ”said HSV coach Daniel Thioune.
Leistner was born in Dresden and trained at Dynamo. Before joining HSV, Leistner was on loan from Queens Park Rangers to 1. FC Köln. (dpa)
