Car driver Enge died. He ruled both Škoda and BMW, winning the Golden Steering Wheel three times

Břetislav Enge, the father of the only Czech participant in Formula 1 racing, Tomáš Enge, died at the age of 70. The ewrc.cz server informed about his death.

Břetislav Enge celebrated success especially on circuits. In the 1970s and 1980s, he competed in the European Touring Car Championship and in 1981 rejoiced with Škoda in winning the team category. Five years later, he became a BMW factory driver. He also competed in hill climbs, in which he won the title of European Vice-Champion in 1994.

He received the Golden Steering Wheel three times in the circuit category. He mastered the traditional survey in 1982, 1984 and 1993.

He returned to racing six years ago and continued his former rally starts. With his daughter Lucie in the role of co-driver, he twice won the Rally Bohemia historic cars.

His son Tomáš made history as the first Czech driver in Formula 3000 and Formula 1 or the overseas series IndyCar. In the prestigious F1 Championship, he presented himself in 2001 in three races in the Prost team.
