On this Tuesday the works of the Pinilla-Mejostilla sports complex, known as Soccer City. The project will provide this area with two state-of-the-art artificial grass soccer fields, as well as an auxiliary services building with changing rooms and a press room, and bleachers with capacity for 1,400 spectators. Also, the complex will have a car park, located next to Santiago Caldera street with capacity for 115 vehicles.
With an investment of 2.9 million euros, the machines have arrived in Pinilla after a long wait since the initial forecast was that the work would start in July 2019. Last February, the Urban Development Commission awarded the contract service for technical assistance and coordination of construction safety, a necessary step to unblock this project, for which a long-term loan of 2,419,644 euros was requested.
PHASES OF THE WORK
In the first phase of the works, the land will be refurbished, to make way for the infrastructure and urbanization and finally raise the two fields, together with the lighting.
The stands, divided into two modules, will be built in a later phase, together with the car parks.
Lastly, the 736-square-meter building will be built for changing rooms, a press room, auxiliary services and a training room.
