Due to a mistake in Europe, you can charge any electric car for free through Tesla Supercharger stations

In Tesla Charging Station Infrastructure Software found a bug due to which the European Supercharger V3 stations allow you to charge any third-party electric vehicle for free.

In Europe, Superchargers with CCS connectors are in operation. To charge a Tesla electric vehicle, a software welcome function is used to start. It activates the charging process only after synchronizing with the car owner’s account in the Tesla system.

It turned out that free recharging can be carried out without such an account. Because of this bug, you can end up charging a variety of electric cars, including:

  • Volkswagen e-Golf;
  • Volkswagen ID.3;
  • BMW i3;
  • Opel Ampera (Chevy Bolt EV);
  • Hyundai Kona Electric;
  • Hyundai IONIQ Electric;
  • Renault Zoe;
  • Porsche Taycan.

Some experts believe that this “hole” did not appear just like that. Probably, Tesla thus wants to attract the attention of automakers to create conditions for the joint use of a network of charging stations.
