Sergio Higuita (EF Pro Cycling) tried to slide into the flight of the day in the 15th stage, but the Colombian champion’s plans were thwarted by a wild move by Bob Jungels (Deceuninck-Quick Step).
The Luxembourger made a strange swing and touched the Colombian’s front wheel with his rear wheel. Higuita fell heavily on his head, but continued on his way.
Not much later, the race radio reported a second fall of Higuita, who eventually returned to the support vehicle in tears.
