In Estonia, 21 people were infected with the new coronavir last day, and another 39 people in Lithuania, according to information provided by the official services of both countries.
The Estonian Department of Health announced on Sunday, September 13, that the number of confirmed infections in Estonia has reached 2,676.
1596 analyzes were performed last day, but a total of 171 494 analyzes were performed in Estonia.
Of the 21 newly detected cases, in one case the infected person returned from abroad, in 11 cases the infection occurred in contact with known persons who had previously been diagnosed with the virus, but for the remaining cases there is no information yet where the infection may have taken place.
No deaths from the new coronavirus disease Covid-19 were reported in Estonia last day. A total of 64 people died of the disease in Estonia.
According to the Estonian Department of Health, the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population on September 13 in Estonia is 22.8. According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, this figure is 22.
Meanwhile, the Lithuanian Ministry of Health has announced that 39 people have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus in the country last day, as well as one death from the disease caused by the virus Covid-19. As a result, infection with this virus has been detected in a total of 3335 people in the country, and recovery has been confirmed in 2070 people.

In 19 newly detected cases in Lithuania, the infection was associated with specific foci of the disease. Including one case related to an outbreak at a pharmaceutical company in Kaunas; two cases – with an outbreak at the Raseiniai police station; three cases are related to a focus in a sewing company in Siauliai, with a total of 37 cases; four cases related to an outbreak at a military unit in the Taurage district, with a total of 44 cases; two cases are related to the outbreak in Klaipeda company “Klaipedos energija”, with which a total of eight cases are related; five cases are related to an outbreak in a Telšiai district company, one case is related to a focus in a Vilnius bar, with a total of four cases; one case is related to an outbreak in a company building a cogeneration plant in Vilnius, which involves a total of 18 cases.
In two cases, the infected person returned from abroad, ten people became infected in contact with known persons, to whom the virus had been discovered before, in another eight cases the conditions of infection had not been clarified.
One person who had been infected with a coronavirus died last day. The deceased is in the age group of 61 to 70 years.
As a result, 87 people died of Covid-19 virus disease in Lithuania, but another 13 people infected with the virus had a different cause of death.
According to the Lithuanian National Center for Public Health, the 14-day cumulative number of infections per 100,000 population on September 13 in Lithuania is 16.5. According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, this figure is 16.4.
