The last shot posted by Vasco Rossi on his Instagram profile he threw fans in alarm, his bass player Claudio Golinelli, in art Gallo, ended up in Hospital.
Last night, Saturday 12 September 2020, an evening of Team Gallo was scheduled in the province of Latina, when a phone call from the Sant’Orsola hospital in Bologna upset the artists’ plans.
Gallo, Vasco’s bass player since 1984, was expecting a liver transplant and the organ’s availability has upset his plans. As disclosed in a Facebook note from Team Gallo, Golinelli was escorted by the carabinieri until reaching the motorway, allowing him to set off in the shortest possible time for Bologna.
Long on the list for this transplant, Gallo has been keeping fans and fellow artists in suspense. Starting with Vasco Rossi, many have addressed a thought to the bassist, who was operated with the utmost urgency during the night.
The interrupted concert and the illness
Claudio Golinelli is one of the most loved and appreciated musicians in Italy, for him the health problems began in 2018 when, due to an illness, he had to withdraw from the tour Vasco Non Stop Live.
At the time he was transported to the Udine hospital where he was hospitalized in the Intensive Care ward.
Claudio Golinelli, who is he?
Golinelli he certainly needs no introduction, his twenty-year career speaks for itself. In fact, Gallo began his career in the Sixties, collecting various experiences including a Cantagiro in 1969.
It was he who founded the band to accompany Gianna Nannini and in 1980 he began his collaboration with Vasco Rossi, the initial riff of Just us.
