Frank de Boer is open to Orange: “But haven’t been approached yet” | NOW

Frank de Boer is excited to get started as national coach of the Dutch national team. The former coach of Ajax is mentioned as one of the candidates, although he says that nothing is playing yet.

“I am very honored to be mentioned. I have not been approached yet, but I am happy to be mentioned in a row with trainers such as Frank Rijkaard and Peter Bosz”, De Boer said on Sunday at FOX Sports.

“Whether it is a dream job for me? In any case, I would consider it a great honor to be the national coach of this country. After the prime minister, it is perhaps the most important job in the Netherlands that everyone talks about.”

The KNVB is looking for a successor to Ronald Koeman, who exchanged Orange last month for his dream job as coach of FC Barcelona. He still had a contract until the 2022 World Cup.

Fifty-year-old De Boer is without a club since he had to leave Atlanta United at the end of July after just over a year and a half. Previously, the former defender of Ajax, FC Barcelona and Orange, among others, was also only briefly coach at Internazionale and Crystal Palace.

De Boer experienced his greatest successes as a trainer of Ajax. The 112-time international led the team from Amsterdam to the national title in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
