Krefeld / Rhein-Kreis Neuss / Mönchengladbach / District Viersen. Training fairs have been canceled, career orientation days at schools have been postponed. Many young people are wondering how they can even find an apprenticeship position in times of Corona. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Mittlerer Niederrhein is therefore increasingly relying on digital offers when looking for training positions in commercial or industrial-technical professions. After the annual trainee speed dating went digital for the first time, the IHK training atlas is now also available in digital form for the first time.

“Our new online training atlas supplements the annual print version and is a directory of training companies. It shows which apprenticeships can be learned there ”, explains Daniela Perner, Managing Director of the Innovation, Education, Skilled Workers Department at the IHK Mittlerer Niederrhein. All entries of the training companies in the online training atlas can be filtered in a simple form by industry, company headquarters or preferred occupation.

In addition, when looking for a dual training position in commercial or industrial-technical professions, the IHK is also relying on digital offers, for example with the nationwide IHK apprenticeship exchange and the career orientation event CHECK IN Berufswelt, which will take place from October 5th to 8th this year will take place in a digitally enhanced form. “Within a few months, the IHK’s search for training received a digital boost. Further developments in all areas are already being planned. In particular, communication via social media channels should be used more, ”says Daniela Perner. “Now it is important that young people make extensive and intensive use of these IHK offers.”
