A graphic commemorating the September 11, 2001 attacks will be faded in ahead of today’s edition of Friday Night Smackdown.
Then the show starts with a video package that summarizes the events in the Universal title story of the last few weeks, before we find ourselves in the WWE Thunderdome. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman enter the ring and Heyman says they kept their promise on Payback. Reigns came, destroyed everyone, and went with the WWE Universal title. He speaks of the new number one challenger to the championship and his family relationship with Roman Reigns, before he calls Jey Uso into the arena and welcomes him into the ring. Roman says they are cousins and like on sandpit days he will spank Jey’s ass, then love will reign again. Baron Corbin and Sheamus come out and complain that Uso and Reigns are related and that the Heels feel cheated of their chance for the title. The segment ends with the announcement of a tag team match between the disputing parties.
Commentators look back on Bayley’s turn against Sasha Banks last week.
The Intercontinental Championship Match between AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy is coming up. Sammy Zayn is in the production truck and asks those present to play his music, but they reply that he is not on the card. After the commercial break the singles match is supposed to start, but Sami Zayn interrupts the referee. He explains again that he is the real title holder and the upcoming match would not be one for the title before Adam Pearce and some security people escort him out of the hall. Styles uses this moment to land a cheap shot against Hardy.
1. Match
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Singles Match
AJ Styles won against Jeff Hardy (c) via DQ after Sami Zayn attacked AJ Styles.
Match time: 07:38
After the match, Sami Zayn continues his attack. Hardy collapses on the ramp on his way from the ring to the backstage area.
We see Jey Uso cheerfully talking to Roman Reigns, while he looks like he’d rather be somewhere else at the moment.
Alyse Ashton updates Jeff Hardy’s condition backstage. At no time did he lose consciousness. AJ Styles joins them and manifests his claims for the Intercontinental Championship.
We look back on Monday Night RAW when Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura made a street profit challenge for the WWE Clash Of Champions PPV. Today the RAW Tag Team Champions will be guests at the Smackdown Tag Team Champs in the “Champions Lounge”.
Kalisto holds a promo before the next match in which he is happy to be back. The WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship is the new destination of the Lucha House Party.
Backstage, Jeff Hardy is treated on a stretcher, but seconds later he finds himself in a brawl with Sami Zayn.
For next Monday’s RAW issue, the pairing Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) announced.

(Non-Title) Tag Team Match
The Lucha House Party (Kalisto & Gran Metallik w / Lince Dorado) won against Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura (c) via pin to Cesaro through Kalisto after a rollup.
Match time: 03:50
– During the match there was a switch to the “Champions Lounge” for Street Profits, which distracted Cesaro & Nakamura. Kalisto used this to win.
After the advertisement we find ourselves in the “Champions Lounge”, where the Lucha House Party arrives and everyone starts a “Lucha, Lucha” choir.
Bayley enters the ring with a folding chair. She sits down on top of it and pointed the microphone in the direction of the titantron, where the scenes of your attack against Sasha Banks are shown in the last issue. Then she says that everyone is asking about Sasha, but nobody is asking about her. She doesn’t regret what she did and then turns to Banks with trash talk. She used Sasha from the start to become Bayley Dos Strapz. Thanks in part to Sasha, she became the longest-ruling WWE Smackdown Women’s title holder. Now Sasha Banks has become useless to her.
3. Match
WWE Smackdown Women‘ s Title #1 Contendership – 4 Way Match
Nikki Cross won against Tamina, Lacey Evans and Alexa Bliss via pin to Tamina after a sunset flip.
Match time: 11:57
– Nikki Cross was attacked by Bayley after moving in. Alexa Bliss came over to check on Cross.
– During the match, Alexa Bliss showed Sister Abigail against Nikki Cross, after which she left the hall.
Backstage, Baron Corbin and Sheamus talk.
In one video we see a blonde woman putting on high heels and a fur coat. Your face is not shown.

Singles Match
Otis (w / Tucker) won against John Morrison (w / The Miz) via pin after a splash.
Match time: 02:22
– During the match, The Miz grabbed Otis’ lunch box and disappeared.
We look back at Sheamus’ attack on Big E a few weeks ago.
With Asuka vs. Mickie James for the RAW Women’s Championship, Dominik Guerrero vs. Seth Rollins in a Steel Cage Match and Drew McIntyre vs. Keith Lee in a non-title match announced three more matches for the upcoming RAW edition. The show is subtitled “In Your Face”.
Backstage we see Tucker and Otis and the latter reveals that The Miz stole the wrong suitcase and this time he hid the contract safely in the lunch box that was in the “Money in the Bank” suitcase.
Time for a new episode of the “Firefly Fun House”. Bray Wyatt, forced by the Vince McMahon doll, introduces his new “special advisor”: Wobbly Walrus!
5. Match
Tag Team Match
Roman Reigns & Jey Uso won against Sheamus & Baron Corbin via a pin to Sheamus after a spear from Reigns.
Match time: 04:00
– As with “Payback”, Roman Reigns only joined the match when it was already in full swing.
The show went off-air with a star down between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso.
