JAKARTA – Samsung is reportedly planning to make a phone with a front camera under the screen in 2021. The new camera solution is reportedly coming for the Galaxy S21.
The latest news came from the Ice Universe Twitter account. The tweet claims that it appears that Samsung has stricter requirements when it comes to camera quality. That is why it took them longer than competitors to bring their solution to market.
“Samsung Display’s bottom-screen camera solution is way ahead of other solutions, and Samsung phones have stricter requirements for under-screen camera effects than other brands. When the two meet, the Galaxy S21’s bottom-screen camera is in a Schrodinger cat state,” Ice Universe wrote. quoted from Twitter, Saturday (12/09/2020).

Launching the Ubergizmo page, one of the camera concerns under the screen is the quality of the image captured. Since the lens effectively needs to shoot through an additional layer of glass, obviously this will affect the image. This is why it’s not as easy as sticking the camera under the screen.
