Vilnius / Tallinn, September 12, LETA. In Lithuania, infection with the new coronavirus was confirmed in 53 people last day, while in Estonia – 23.

According to the Lithuanian National Center for Public Health (NVSC), a total of 3,296 people have been diagnosed with the virus in Lithuania, and recovery has been confirmed for 2,070 people. 5105 analyzes were performed last day, but a total of 692 223 analyzes were performed in Lithuania.

13 cases were detected in Kaunas, 12 in Siauliai, nine in Vilnius and Panevezys, six in Klaipeda, two in Taurage, one in Marijampole and Alytus. In five cases, the virus was imported from abroad – two people who came from Ukraine were confirmed in Vilnius, two more came from Belarus. In Šiauliai, one infected person returned from Spain.

The disease caused by the virus Covid-19 has claimed the lives of 86 people in Lithuania, but the cause of death of another 13 people infected with this virus was different. No deaths were recorded in the past day.

According to the NVSC, the 14-day cumulative number of infections per 100,000 population on September 11 in Lithuania is 16.4.

The Estonian Department of Health reports that the number of confirmed infections in Estonia has reached 2,655, and 14 people are being treated in hospital.

17 infections have been confirmed in Harju County, which also includes Tallinn, five in East Viru County and one in Jõgeva County.

2197 analyzes were performed last day, but a total of 169 899 analyzes were performed in Estonia.

No deaths from the Covid-19 virus disease were reported in Estonia last day. In Estonia, the disease has claimed a total of 64 lives.

According to the Estonian Department of Health, the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population on September 12 in Estonia is 21.97.
