There were bruises on his back. Both Cras and his team felt the pain was caused by them. In the 9th stage of this year’s Tour de France, however, the pain turned out to be too strong for the Belgian to finish the competition, so he and the team decided to withdraw from further driving.

Cras was taken for an X-ray immediately afterwards to see exactly what was causing the pain. The doctor’s diagnosis, however, was astonishing – the Belgian competed with the broken lumbar vertebrae, which he reported on social media by publishing an x-ray. – L5 broken vertebrae caused back pain after Stage 1 of the Tour de France.
