Crime on the rise, dirty streets, degradation of public services in New York. In the midst of the presidential campaign on the theme of security, more than 160 New York business leaders and economic officials are calling on Mayor Bill de Blasio to act against the deterioration in the quality of life in the city since the beginning of the the pandemic.
The numbers speak for themselves. Two-thirds of New York’s restaurants may have to close their doors by the end of the year. The coronavirus pandemic and its handling by authorities have had a catastrophic effect on life in the Big Apple.
