Earlier this year, several media outlets wrote about the former child star Shaun Weiss (42), known from the Disney trilogy “The Mighty Ducks”. The film series was large in the 1990s, and has almost gained cult status among ice hockey fans. It was here that the young American first made his entrance into the public eye, in the role of Greg Goldberg.
However, it is several decades ago, and much has happened since then. He has only starred in a few minor films and TV series, and never reached the level of fame he once was at. He had instead chosen to go into criminal lanes, which has made his life extremely difficult.
As a child star, he was round and gentle, but in the new pictures he seemed starved and badly affected by life on the streets as a drug addict. A fundraising campaign was launched with the aim of getting him on better paths, and it seems that it has worked.
Now, new images of the star have once again appeared, which are again unrecognizable. This time with a positive sign.
Fox News is among the media covering the case. The website writes that the actor was recently able to celebrate a full 200 days as a sober person, and it is clear that staying away from drugs has helped him for the better. He also has new teeth, as a result of the old ones being completely damaged after several years of methamphetamine abuse.
He has also gained a little weight, got a haircut and has groomed his beard.
His friend Drew Gallagher shared the update. It was also he who in February started the collection in honor of the comrade, with the aim of getting him back on his feet.
“Weiss is doing great. His face and mouth feel like “tender meat” after each mouth operation, but he feels blessed to have a new set of teeth. The process has gone smoothly, and he has now been sober for 225 days “, he wrote Facebook – to the great delight of the fans.
Gallagher has in many ways taken on the role of Weiss’ spokesperson over the past year. When the arrest photos appeared in February, it was he who defended the actor.
– Shaun Weiss is not without guilt, he will of course be responsible for all the nonsense he invents. But if you spend time with him, you would have had a much more humane understanding of how he is, he said at the time.
Troubled lives
The reason why he spoke at the time was that he had created a page where you could donate money that would go to bail and a stay in rehab for the actor. On the page, Gallagher wrote that he has been trying to help his friend for several years.
“The fact that he lost his parents caused him to become depressed and start taking drugs. Suddenly Shaun slept on my sofa, and eventually also on the street – where he was beaten and had his belongings stolen almost daily “, Gallagher explained.

In March, it became known that the actor was out of custody as a result of the arrest earlier this year. He was sent straight to a rehabilitation center, where he stayed for about 100 days. He obviously went “all in”, and life smiles more than ever before.
If you look at his past, it is by no means a given. In 2017, he was sentenced to 150 days in prison for theft. However, he was only there for 12 days, as a result of the prison being overcrowded.
In the late summer of 2018, he was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs in public. However, he was not charged with anything. Earlier that year, however, he was charged with possession of methamphetamine, and was sentenced to 90 days in prison.
