When it turned out that they were unable to recover from the virus, hospital staff took the couple to the same room so they could comfort each other and say goodbye. Their son, Shane Peoples, tells television station WBTV. “They took each other’s hands and died four minutes apart.”
The couple had been together for 50 years and married for 48 years. Son Shane now has to deal with the loss of both parents at the same time. The funeral was held outside on Wednesday due to the current corona measures. Those present adhered to guidelines for social distance.
Fever and loss of taste were his parents’ early symptoms, according to son Shane. “My father started showing symptoms two days later. About two weeks later they were both admitted to intensive care. ”
“My parents have been a blessing not only to me, my brother, my sister, our husbands, and our children. They have been a blessing to everyone they met. My mother had the most beautiful soul of anyone you could have met, ”Shane wrote on Facebook.
In the interview with television channel WBTV, he emphasized that the virus should be taken seriously. He therefore calls on his Facebook friends to keep washing their hands and to keep their distance and to wear a mouth mask. “Corona is not a joke. It’s not a hoax. I just don’t want anyone else to get the virus. I don’t want anyone to feel the sadness we feel, ”he concludes.
