In 2019, we tried the first foldable smartphones from Huawei and Samsung.
Huawei’s Mate X and Samsung’s Galaxy Fold both came with two screens, albeit with different “folding solutions”. The former had the screen on the outside of the board, while the latter could be folded out like a book, ie the screen was on the inside.
Although the world was not entirely convinced that this is the future, there are still new folding mobile phones to come. Microsoft has made a mobile comeback with Surface Duo, which has two screens. Motorola also has revived its classic Razr, which in the new edition is a folding phone where the entire inside is screen.

Next week, LG unveils its latest invention, Lg wing, which has two screens where one can be rotated 90 degrees horizontally so the phone gets a T-shape.
Thus, it may be better to call all these mobiles multi-screen phones rather than folding phones.
“Why” is a consistent comment we have seen about the new wing phone for LG. “Why not”, we often feel can be an answer to all these new concepts, as they feel as they are. Of course, doing several things at once is the answer.
This YouTube video from Android Authority shows, however, that there may be something wrong with an extra rotating screen when playing, then you can use one screen to control with, while the other screen shows other useful information.
This is not the first time LG has released a phone like this. They have had several phones on the market with a rotating screen, but then one part was a physical T9 keyboard.
Mid-range mobile
Shall we believe AND News The LG Wing will be equipped as a mid-range mobile, with a Snapdragon 700 series processor, 5G and a triple camera system with a 64-megapixel main camera. The main screen should be 6.8 inches, while the other screen should be 4 inches.
Korean Herald writes it will cost one million Korean won, approximately 7600 Norwegian kroner, when it goes on sale later this year. Not as expensive as, for example, Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, which has cost well over 20,000. This has admittedly come with top model specifications.
LG will officially unveil the Wing at a press conference next Monday, 14 September.
PS! Dinside will soon test the sequel to Galaxy Fold – Galaxy Z Fold 2.
