The price increase comes after Microsoft announced that EA Play will be integrated with the Game Pass subscription for PC. Until now, Game Pass for PC has cost $ 4 a month, but that was an introductory price during the beta period, which Microsoft said earlier could change.

On Twitter confirms Microsoft that the Game Pass PC subscription will be withdrawn from the beta phase from next week, which will also increase the price. On the Xbox-site can be seen that it is going to more than double the price, to 10 euros per month.

Gamers who have already taken out a Game Pass subscription for 4 euros per month will continue to pay that amount for as long as their subscription continues. Until September 17, it is still possible to take out a subscription for that amount.

On Wednesday, Microsoft announced that the EA Play subscription will be part of the Game Pass subscription for PC and for Game Pass Ultimate, at no additional cost. EA’s subscription also costs 4 euros per month from that publisher.

The Game Pass subscription gives gamers access to a library of more than a hundred games, which must be installed locally. Microsoft releases all games from its own studios directly through the subscription, including titles like Flight Simulator and the Halo games. In addition, Microsoft is closing deals with other publishers. New games are added regularly and many games disappear after a certain period of time.

Microsoft has three different Game Pass plans: for PC, for consoles and an Ultimate variant, which combines both and also includes cloud gaming and Xbox Live Gold.
