Exactly one year ago it was announced by Motorola the first smartphone with foldable display and “vertical” clamshell design. We obviously speak of Motorola Razr which, due to problems of a perhaps too slow production, was then made to overcome on the shelves by Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. After about 12 months, the winged house tries again: here it is officially Motorola Moto Razr of the second generation.
The name remains unchanged: Moto Razr, to which we prefer to add a suffix 2, 2020, The 2nd gen to better differentiate it from the first model and, apparently, it simply looks like an improved version of the first edition.
Motor Razr’s technical specifications remain mid-range
Let’s start with the aesthetics where the differences are minimal: the edges have been slightly rounded, the design of the main camera has been redefined, which remains single, and the lower button to block the opening and closing of the display has been eliminated, in favor of a hinge. best. Internally, on the other hand, it seems apparently identical, trying to impress the nostalgia effect once again.
The technical specifications do not scream the miracle of technology, they are in fact representative of a mid-range smartphone:
- SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G;
- 5G connectivity;
- 8GB in RAM;
- 256GB memory, without memory expansion;
- 6.7 ”internal display 876 x 2142 OLED, external 2.7-inch 792 x 600 OLED;
- 2,800 mAh battery;
- fotocamera da 48MP, f/1.7, 1.6μm pixel size, OIS, 20MP selfie camera;
- no 3.5 mm audio port;
- software: Android 10;
- misure: 72.6 x 169.2 x 7.9mm (unfolded) — 72.6 x 91.7 x 16mm (folded).
Note how the external display has changed, now larger and above all with OLED technology and therefore clearly visible and usable to interact with the smartphone without having to open it to perform actions. You can even reply to a message by showing the virtual keyboard on the internal screen.
Another novelty is the support for 5G connectivity obviously offered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC.
The price, on the other hand, is top of the range
Although it has dropped by a couple of hundred dollars compared to last year (overseas), the price remains high, very salty, which make this smartphone a bit elitist, and perhaps it is also right so given the display technology. Let’s talk about 1.399,99 $ which in Italy pass to 1.599,99 Euro for our country and Europe.
The availability of Moto Razr 2, 2020 or second generation Moto Razr, is set for a generic autumn in the colors Gold, Black and Gray. You like it?
