Valve has made a decision to cancel Major CSGO. The reason, of course, is the epidemiological situation in the world.
The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community has long guessed that this would be the case. Valve’s owners have decided to cancel Major CSGO, which was supposed to take place in November this year. The reason for this decision is the current epidemiological situation in the world. The organizers and developers do not want to risk the health and life of potential event participants.
Valve intends to postpone planning major tournaments
In a statement from Valve, which we could read on the official Counter-Strike blog, but disappeared at the time of writing, the developers announced that they intend to refrain from planning major tournaments.
We will not be asking players and fans to risk their health to take part in a major while the pandemic continues to pose a threat to travelers. That is why we made the painful decision to dismiss the November Major – wrote in a statement.
So what’s the plan? – continued Valve – First, we are going to hold off planning Main Event until, at least, until it is safe to host LAN events in the Regional Major Ranking (RMR). Until then, we expect to continue hosting RMR events online to follow the best teams in each region.
Certainly, such a decision was very difficult for the organizers and developers, but considering the situation – really reasonable.
