The visit of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Russia will take place next week, the Pul Pervogo channel of the “Telegram” application close to Lukashenko’s press service reports on Wednesday.
“Talks in the presidential circles are for next week. And there are all signs of concrete preparations,” writes Pul Pervogo.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that Lukashenko’s visit was expected in the coming days.
Protests have been going on in Belarus for a month, demanding Lukashenko’s resignation. He is accused of falsifying the results of the August 9 presidential election in order to stay in power.
Lukashenko has sought support in Moscow, which has also recently shown increased support for the Lukashenko regime.
