President Chandrikapersad Santokhi has made the decision to open the working week every Monday with prayer for the government, country and people. In that context, the spiritual adviser of the President, Harold Pultoo, gave the board of the Surinamese Bible Society the opportunity to help give substance to this beautiful initiative on Monday, September 07, at the cabinet of the President.
Spiritual adviser Harold Pultoo says this is actually an outgrowth of the congregation praying with the President as a party before the elections. “The Lord Jesus has listened to us,” he says, “and the President has decided to place the work in His hands every week.”
The word read was from the Bible book of Micah, where the prophet Micah exhorted the then rulers to turn to God so that He might make their paths straight. “We are in an economic and moral-ethical trough, but with God we have good times”. Thus the spiritual adviser.
