People indicate that they are satisfied with their lives, but the mental damage of the crisis is still visible six months after the first infection. 60 percent say that due to the corona crisis, they are increasingly troubled or have had mental complaints. This varies from minor effects such as worrying and being irritable to serious symptoms such as depression and panic attacks.
Young people up to the age of 35 in particular suffer mentally from the crisis: no fewer than three quarters (74 percent) say they have suffered from complaints so far. The mental problems of young people are therefore many times greater than those of older age groups. The most common complaints among young people are stress (40 percent), loneliness (38 percent) and persistent fatigue (36 percent).
Elderly more stable
48 percent of the over-65s say they have (experienced) one or more mental complaints. According to it opinion panel is that striking; the age group with the most health risks has the fewest mental problems.
