Schick is due to undergo a medical examination in Leverkusen today

Striker Patrik Schick should undergo a medical examination in Leverkusen today, where he should then transfer from AS Roma for 24 million euros. The daily Bild informed about it, which published a video on its website of the arrival of the Czech representative to the club.

Schick arrived in Leverkusen less than a week after his national team ended prematurely, during which he came into contact with one of the two members of the coronavirus-infected implementation team and had to quarantine. The 24-year-old forward missed the League of Nations matches in Slovakia and Scotland because of this.

Due to isolation, according to Bild, negotiations on the transfer to Leverkusen were also postponed, for which the Roman team should receive 24 million euros and, according to previous reports, an unspecified share of a possible resale. A former Sparta or Bohemians 1905 player should sign a five-year contract with Bayer.

Schick heads to Leverkusen after a year-long guest appearance in Leipzig, for which he scored ten goals last Bundesliga season and was the second best team scorer. He helped the club to the semifinals of the Champions League, but the management decided not to use the transfer option due to the economic effects of the coronavirus crisis.

Schick has been active in Rome since 2017. He first guested from Sampdoria Genoa and then moved there for a total of 38 million euros, making him the most expensive player in the club’s history. In the “Giallorossi” jersey, however, the support of the national team, for which he played 22 matches and scored nine goals, did not gain much ground.
