Rome, 8 September 2020 – He faced his killer to save the children he was acting as baby sitter. Teresa Scavelli, 46, originally from Calabria, was killed in St. Gallen, in the German canton of Switzerland. His personal details have recently been released, despite the murder that took place a few days ago.
A young man, apparently with psychiatric problems, entered the house where she worked as a housekeeper and babysitter. Then the attack, with the Italian woman who tried to defend the child entrusted to her. As far as we know, there were two other children at home. Teresa struggled, but ultimately had to succumb. The fatal blow was inflicted on her with a blunt instrument, broke a frying pan, local newspapers report. The violent madness of his murderer was interrupted by the intervention of the Swiss police. The man was killed, shot by the agents who tried to stop him while he was attacking the victim. But for Teresa, unfortunately, there was already nothing more to do. Between the two, according to the reconstructions filtered by the Swiss media, there would have been no connection. The raid on the house and the ensuing assault would have been random choices, made on the spot.
The 46-year-old had arrived from Calabria in the Veronese area, where her husband, Salvatorie Elia, and three adult children, Simone, Giuseppe and Sarah live. Then the move to Switzerland, for work. Teresa’s funeral was celebrated yesterday in Palù (Verona).
