NS says it is pleased that people are able to find the train again, mainly for leisure traffic. “But the fact that people respond well to the call to work from home does mean something for our income. And it will remain so for a while, ”says Smit.

Due to corona, the number of travelers fell rapidly in March to a low point in April. On some days only 9 percent of the number of train journeys was made, compared to the same period last year.
