With such a large fee, according to him, it is considered difficult for elected regional heads to remain entrusted with carrying out their duties.

“In the local elections, just looking for recommendations requires billions of money, while the regent’s salary everyone knows, the average is Rp. 6 million, if there are incentives and so on,” said Faida when speaking at a webinar held by Cakra Wikara Indonesia. , Tuesday (25/8/2020).

“At a cost of tens of billions, I make sure it is difficult to become an upright leader, if you start the election with a dishonorable way, buy a chance,” added Faida.

According to Faida, the statement he made was not a mere fabrication.

Rather, it departs from personal experience while advancing in the previous Pilkada.

“I conveyed this not to offend anyone, but as a personal experience,” Faida explained when confirmed after registering a regional head candidate at the Jember KPU, Sunday (6/9/2020).

Political party objections

Faida’s statement received objections from a number of political parties.

This is because in the previous Pilkada Faida and Abdul Muqit Arief were promoted by a number of political parties. Among them are PDI-P, Nasdem, and Hanura.

Tabroni, the former Chair of the PDI-P DPC who carried Faida-Muqiet in the 2015 Pilkada said that the statement was untrue and constituted a public deception.

Because, at that time no dowry was issued to the party at all.

In fact, what happened was the party that spent money to assist him in campaigning.

“In the process, Faida did not issue a single rupiah in order for the recommendation to go down to him,” said Tabroni.

“Show us, to whom he spent the money,” he said.

A similar sentiment was also conveyed by the Chairman of DPD Nasdem Jember Marzuki. According to him, Faida’s statement was not true. Because, at that time no dowry at all was issued to the supporting party.
