Harianjogja.com, JAKARTA – The Covid-19 pandemic is still hitting and cases of infection with the virus worldwide continue to increase over time. But, experts say that the Covid-19 corona virus is getting weaker and this can reduce the number of deaths.
Due to social distancing rules, an infected person can only transmit a less concentrated trail of the coronavirus. This makes the dose of the corona virus infection lower or weaker than initially.
This means that people who have just been infected with the Covid-19 corona virus will experience smaller infections so that the virus does not have a serious effect, similar to chickenpox.

Even so, doctors made it clear that the nature of the Covid-19 corona virus is currently not well known, whether it depends on the dose of infection or something else.
But just like SARS and MERS, the number of transmission of the Covid-19 corona virus in the UK started to hit a low of 550 per day in the first week of July 2020.
At that time, around 150 sufferers of the corona virus were hospitalized every day. Since July 2020, the number of new infections has increased with 1,500 people testing positive for the coronavirus last week.
However, the death rate for corona virus patients in hospitals has actually decreased. Currently, there are around 450 coronavirus patients in hospitals battling the coronavirus in the UK.
“If you are exposed to the virus in fewer numbers, fewer cells in the body are infected. So, there is time for your immune system to respond,” explained Dr. Elisabetta Groppelli quoted from The Sun.
Many comparisons have been linked between the Covid-19 corona virus and the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. The theory depends on the dose of infection that might predict future events.
Dr Groppelli said age and other illnesses played a big role. Meanwhile, Professor Wendy Barclay, head of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Imperial College London, said all these conditions were related to their size.
“If I have to be infected with the Covid-19 corona virus right now, I want the smallest possible dose of infection. Because that means my body has a higher chance of controlling the infection,” explained Dr Groppelli.
