Studio Brussel will go into quarantine after two confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been identified. All employees of the radio station must be tested and quarantined. This also has immediate consequences for the programming: only music will be heard between the morning and evening block.

At the end of last week, a first infection would have been detected at a Studio Brussels employee. Someone from the team of presenter Fien Germijns. As a result, she already presented the evening block from her home and colleagues who had close contact with the infected person were asked to have themselves tested. Now a second colleague also tested positive. It was then decided that all employees must have themselves tested and must be quarantined preventively.
“It is insurmountable that this has consequences for the programming on the channel,” says Studio Brussel network head Jan Van Biesen. “The health of our people is of course paramount. Given the circumstances, we had no choice but to proceed to this collective quarantine. I know our listeners will understand this very well. We hope, as soon as this is allowed and possible, to resume all our normal broadcasts and offerings, because our entire team is extra motivated here at the start of the new radio season. ”
“Both colleagues are doing well”, Studio Brussel writes on Facebook. “As a precaution, all employees must be quarantined and tested. Michèle Cuvelier (6 AM – 9 AM) and Fien Germijns (4 PM – 7 PM) will make solo radio from their home. During the other hours you only hear music. ”
