Mafia: Definitive Edition Preview: “Back in Time”

A few months ago, the Mafia Trilogy announced. 2K went on to give the entire Mafia Trilogy a new look. Meanwhile, the remasters of Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 were already able to check out earlier this year, and we were moderately positive about that. Graphics were better, but gameplay hadn’t quite stood the test of time. Soon it will be time for the remake of Mafia 1. This time the game is really overhauled. Skate has spent a few hours with Mafia: Definitive Edition and can’t wait to tell you about it.

“One is not like the others”

Although the remasters of Mafia 2 and 3 were fun in itself, most people were most excited about what Hangar 13 would do with Mafia 1. And so were we. The first images showed a ‘completely different’ game. Logical, because unlike Mafia 2 and 3, the first part did not get a remaster. It was a complete remake! In other words, Mafia Definitive Edition is an old game, rebuild from the ground up. For current consoles, and of course PC. It’s no wonder that quite a few people are excited about a Mafia 1 remake.

Is this game a make-up?

Hangar 13 has managed to create a game with Mafia 3 that, for many, certainly went in the right direction in terms of graphics, atmosphere, sound and story. Unfortunately, the same could not always be said about the gameplay and structure of Mafia 3. As a result, Mafia 3 has left a bad taste for many. People hoping for an epic sequel to Mafia 2 were disappointed. Fortunately, Hanger 13 has had a great opportunity to learn from their previous experience. They could release a new (old) game in the Mafia franchise. Skate and JJ will tell you whether that remake seems to be successful. Because there is still time to polish further. Mafia: Definitive Edition won’t be released until September 25th.
