Moment Indonesia still facing the first wave of Corona, several countries that have ‘had’ success now have to face a new wave. No longer the second wave, there are countries facing the third wave of Corona.
Case spike corona virus happened again after loosening restrictions. The following countries are preparing for the third wave of Corona.
1. Iran
Quoted from Al Monitor, Iranian officials warned the country would face a third wave of Corona. According to Health Ministry spokesman Sima Sadat Lari, Iran had nearly 2,000 confirmed cases of the new Coronavirus in the last 24 hours a few days ago.
The head of the Corona Virus Eradication Operations Headquarters in Tehran, Alireza Zali, said that every day, about one million people come and go to the Iranian capital to work.
He added that every day 400,000 cars enter Tehran from Alborz Province and nearly one million people use the metro and buses in the city. For this reason, Zali warned that the third wave of the Corona virus was near.
“The third wave is near,” Zali warned.
Iran is also reportedly short of beds. Safari Saeed of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences warned about the inadequate supply of intensive care unit (ICU) beds.
“The most important problem is that we don’t have ICU beds, we have to start thinking now about fall and winter,” Safari said.
2. Hong Kong
Having previously been assessed as ‘successful’ in dealing with the Corona outbreak, SCMP reported that Hong Kong was facing the third wave of Corona since last July. The existence of a third wave of Corona was assessed because many residents who returned from abroad did not carry out quarantine.
“There are weaknesses in the system because other people at home are not restricted in their movements, and will still enter and leave the house,” Malik Peiris, Chair of Virology at the University of Hong Kong, was quoted as saying by the BBC.
As a result, Hong Kong continues to aggressively carry out mass testing to reduce the spread of the Corona virus. The mass test for COVID-19 will run between one and two weeks, but the number of participants remains limited per day, to reduce the risk of contracting it COVID-19.
