(Belga) The Belgian Laurens Vanthoor (Porsche) finished 6th and last in the GTLM category this Saturday evening during the sixth round of the IMSA on Road Atlanta, in Georgia in the United States.
As in the last two races, Laurens Vanthoor and his New Zealand teammate Earl Bamber were the big defeats in the GTLM category in IMSA, the North American endurance championship. Starting 4th in the 6h race, Laurens Vanthoor and his teammate could not claim anything: the crew lost 2 laps after 2h40 of the race for having changed the brake pads on their Porsche 911 RSR. The two drivers finally had to settle for 6th place two laps behind the winners. Up front, the BMW M8 GTE of the American Connor De Phillippi and the Canadian Bruno Spengler won in GTLM. This is the first victory this season for the crew. In the championship, the Spaniard Antonio Garcia and the American Jordan Taylor still lead the dance with 191 points while Bamber and Vanthoor go from 2nd to 5th position with 20 points behind. The next race will take place on September 11 and 12 at Lime Rock Park. (Belga)
