We’ll have to wait a few more months for Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune, but we’ve been treated to multiple set photos lately. The first trailer will also be released later this week. So the film is being promoted slowly but surely. In a recent interview, Villeneuve also commented on the Dune-It’s a movie David Lynch.

Lynch already released a film adaptation of Dune in 1984, but is absolutely not satisfied with this. The famous director recently announced that the the only movie he regrets. Villeneuve, who says he is a big fan of Lynch, says he had mixed feelings after watching Dune.

Villeneuve’s opinion
I am a huge fan of David Lynch, he is a true master. I remember being excited when he came up with Dune, but when I saw the movie itself I was not completely satisfied with his approach. Some parts are great, but others made me feel uncomfortable. I was not completely satisfied and thought the film was a bit unbalanced. But that also motivated me to make my version. I thought to myself: “This fantastic book absolutely needs a new film adaptation that feels different”.
