New light strip Philips Hue gives every TV Ambilight

Hue creator Signify revealed during techbeurs IFA 2020 including the Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip. Unlike previous light strips, this model can show more than one color at the same time, but a whole hue.

The strip can be mounted on the back of TVs, and in combination with the Philips Hue Play Sync Box that TV can then be used as an Ambilight set. The light strip then colors with what is happening on the screen. Users must have a reasonably large TV: 55 inches or larger. The new Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip is available from October 6 from 180 euros, more expensive for larger TVs.

Renewed Iris and large wire lamps

One of the first colored Hue lamps was the Iris table lamp. The latest model keeps the characteristic convex shape, but can show more colors, dim to a lower light level and has a higher light intensity in white tone up to 570 lumens. The cord is also wrapped in fabric and, like the most new Hue lamps, the lamp has Bluetooth support.

The new Iris will be available from October 6 in black and white for 100 euros, and in limited edition in gold, silver, rosé and copper for 120 euros.

The Hue Filament bulbs are LED bulbs that look like an old-fashioned filament. New are two larger versions of the spherical and elongated variants that already existed. The lamps will be available from September 29, the spherical model costs 40 euros, the elongated model 35 euros.

Finally, Hue comes with a smaller version of its E14 bulb, the rotating light for small fittings. Until now, the Hue lamp was only available in candle shape, now there is also a spherical model. Only with warm white light with a fixed color temperature, but dimmable. The new White Ball Bulb E14 is available from September 29 for 20 euros, or 30 euros for a 2-pack.
