Eight thousand new charging points at strategic locations in the south of the Netherlands | NOW

Vattenfall will install eight thousand new charging stations in North Brabant and Limburg in the coming years. It is one of the larger projects in this area in the Netherlands, the company reports Friday.

The agreement pays a lot of attention to the proactive installation of piles. Vattenfall and the provinces want to examine closely where there is a need for new charging points.

The Eindhoven University of Technology and the HvA have developed a model for this, says the province of Brabant. That can calculate exactly how many posts are needed within a radius of 250 meters.

In addition, charging stations are placed on request. If someone buys an electric car and does not have their own driveway, the owner can request a charging station. It will then be placed somewhere nearby.

According to figures from the province of Noord-Brabant, 19,600 and 2,500 fully electric passenger cars are now driving in that province.

The contract will run until 2024. How much money is involved has not been disclosed.
