LG: 2018 TVs won’t have AirPlay 2 or HomeKit

LG TVs of the 2018 generation will ultimately not be entitled to the addition of AirPlay 2 and HomeKit, the British subsidiary of the manufacturer has it confirmed to one of his clients.

This puts an end to a wait of several months, when last April, LG published a table where the 2018 range (the B8 to Z8 series) appeared as the recipient of an autumn update. Initially, LG had planned this compatibility from the 2019 vintage only, before finally widening the field (read LG will also add AirPlay and HomeKit to select 2018 TVs).

This generation did not lose everything, 2018 models received recently updated which provides them with the TV application to enjoy Apple TV + programs.

Too bad for the other two software functions, but in the absence of a firmware integration, we can always get AirPlay 2 and HomeKit via a beast Apple TV box (it happens that the refurb offers with 30 € discount), and regardless of the age of his television …
