Advocate of Sanda Dia’s mother: “Those Giant Gommers are ge …

The members of Reuzegom are not murderers. Lieve Pepermans, the lawyer of the mother of the mourned Sanda Dia, said this in Gert Late Night. “Sanda’s mother leads a hermit life, it’s sad.”

On Friday, the case surrounding the death of Sanda Dia will be dealt with for the first time, although it is already certain what will happen there. “Nothing”, says Lieve Pepermans. “The case is being postponed because a number of defendants’ lawyers have requested additional investigations from the investigating judge. They will now decide whether those investigative acts should take place or not. ”

Master Pepermans says he is not surprised about this delay. “I think it’s normal somewhere. It is also a matter with many people involved. It all needs to be investigated, because in the beginning it was not clear that it was so serious. An investigation does take a certain time, and when the investigation was completed it went to the public prosecutor’s office and the attorney therefore needs time to know what claim to make. ” Van Pepermans could have gone faster. “But one must of course have the time to conduct the research.”

Not killers

The lawyer finds it unjustified that very harsh reactions are given on social media and that the members of Reuzegom are called murderers. “Murderer, that means premeditated. It’s not, huh. They are not murderers. You planned a murder in advance. Here they – deliberately did – administered substances that resulted in death. I understand the reactions. It’s very shocking. It is very serious facts that have happened. It is very bad and then I understand that serious questions are being asked about it in the media. ”

Her client is struggling with all the fuss, the lawyer said. “She is sad and has since crawled in a hole in the ground. A bit of a hermit life. Now it all starts and we support her, but she is unable to follow the news. We tell her what’s happening and she reads the headlines, but she can’t read on. That is not possible.”
