Salta Intensifies Dengue Vaccination Campaign in Priority Areas Amid Outbreak

The Salta Ministry of Public Health has announced the continuation of its dengue vaccination campaign in priority areas of the ⁢province, adhering to guidelines ‌set by the National Health portfolio.⁤ This initiative ‌targets individuals aged 15 to 39, irrespective of their social work status, to initiate or complete the vaccination scheme,⁤ which‌ requires two doses administered at least three‍ months apart. The province has⁤ received 6,000 doses of the vaccine, which will be distributed across municipalities in the San Martín, Anta, Rivadavia, Metán, General Güemes, Oran, and Rosario de la Frontera departments. Adriana magdaleno, Director of Primary Health Care, emphasized that while the vaccine is a crucial tool in ‌combating dengue, prevention remains equally vital. She urged residents to eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites in⁢ their homes.

So far this week,‍ 2,230 doses have been ‍distributed to health centers, with 827 vaccines already administered free of charge. Health authorities are encouraging the population, particularly those in areas heavily affected by the dengue outbreak, to ‌take advantage ‍of this opportunity to immunize themselves.

To receive the vaccine, individuals must present their‌ identity document ‌and, if available, their vaccination card. This measure ensures⁢ that more people are protected ‌against dengue and supports ongoing efforts in disease prevention.
