It’s called Unici Christmas Padel: a padel tournament to fight Camk2. On Saturday 14 December, from 10.00 am to approximately 2.00 pm, the Due Ponti Sporting Club of Rome will open the fields to approximately 100 participants. There are two tournaments, women’s and men’s. The event supports the research project on a rare genetic disease financed by the “Unici” Association, established by the Rai journalist Stefano Buttafuocoand carried forward from the Bambin Gesù Pediatric Hospital.
A topic also brought to the European Parliament
“It will be a special event – declared Stefano Buttafuoco – during which we will inform our supporters on the developments of the research project carried out by Dr. Claudia Compagnucci of the Bambin Gesù Children’s Hospital. As I reported a few days ago on the stage of the European Parliament in Brussels, on the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities, even today research relating to rare diseases relies almost entirely on the families of patients”.
Characters from the world of sport and entertainment
Sensitive to the theme are the numerous sports, TV and entertainment personalities who will also participate in the event this year as players and friends of the association. Leader of the supporters, Emanuele Tornaboni, president of the Due Ponti Sporting Club: “Our club has always shown itself to be sensitive to certain issues. The Unici association carries out a tangible and concrete project. For this reason we decided to support it from the first moment. Research is life and future, for all of us.”
