The highly anticipated men’s Alpine Skiing world Cup descent in Wengen has been delayed by 15 minutes due to challenging weather conditions. The race, originally scheduled for 12:30 p.m., will now commence at 12:45 p.m. Spectators can catch the action live on RTS2.
An FIS spokesperson confirmed the delay on Telegram, stating, “Due to current weather conditions, updated forecasts and ongoing track work,” the start time has been adjusted. The race will begin at the top of the Lauberhorn, maintaining its full length of 4.5 kilometers—the longest and oldest descent on the World Cup circuit. The majestic backdrop of the Eiger and Jungfrau mountains adds to the grandeur of this iconic event.
Over 20,000 spectators have gathered in the finish area and along the track, eagerly anticipating a Swiss victory. the Swiss downhillers have dominated the season so far, securing three doubles in the first three events and occupying the top four spots in the specialty.
