President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday announced three special envoys to promote business in Hollywood.
“I am honored to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone as special ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
“They will serve as my Special Envoys on a mission to bring Hollywood — which has lost a lot of business over the last four years overseas — back bigger, better and stronger than ever before.”
He added: “These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears and I will do whatever they suggest. It will again be, like the United States of America itself, the Golden Age of Hollywood!”
Mel Gibson, Jon Voight and Sylvester Stallone have been staunch supporters of Trump in recent years.
Sylvester Stallone called Trump a “second George Washington” while introducing the 47th president at the America First Policy Institute gala in November.
“We are in front of a truly legendary character. “Nobody in the world could have done what he did, and that’s why I’m in awe,” said the actor.
“When George Washington stood up for his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world, because, without him, you can imagine what the world would be like. Guess what? We have the second George Washington. Congratulations!”
The 69-year-old Gibson supported Trump in the 2024 election, while he also left spikes for Vice President Kamala Harris. The “Braveheart” star was asked about the presidential race after landing at Los Angeles International Airport.
“I don’t think it’s going to surprise anybody who I’m going to vote for,” Gibson said in a video obtained by TMZ.
When the cameraman suggested that Trump was a “bad guess,” Gibson replied, “I think that’s a pretty good guess.”
“I know what it’s going to be like if we let her in,” Gibson said, referring to Harris. “This is not good. A lousy track record, a scary track record, no politics to speak of, and he has the IQ of a fence post.”
Voight, 86, an outspoken conservative actor and longtime supporter, once called Trump “the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.”
That same year, the “Ray Donovan” star became the first recipient of the prestigious National Medal of Arts under the first Trump administration.
