Global Leaders Converge at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit 2025 to drive Sustainable Progress
Teh abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit 2025 kicked off with a powerful display of global collaboration, as heads of state, policymakers, and industry leaders gathered at the ADNEC Center Abu Dhabi to explore innovative pathways for accelerating sustainable economic transformation. Under the theme “The Nexus of next. Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” the summit aims to showcase how the convergence of advanced technologies and global expertise can drive meaningful climate action.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,Crown Prince of Abu dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu dhabi,attended the dialogue sessions,welcoming participants and emphasizing the summit’s critical role in proposing recommendations and innovative solutions to achieve global sustainability goals.“The activities of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week serve as a platform to enhance global dialogue and exchange ideas on best practices in sustainability,” he stated. His Highness also highlighted the importance of leveraging modern innovations, including artificial intelligence, to address environmental challenges and achieve climate neutrality.
The summit featured a series of keynote speeches from global leaders, each offering unique perspectives on sustainable development. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered a speech titled “Towards a New Model of Development: Resilience, Growth, and Sustainability,” while Shavkat Mirzayev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, explored “Uzbekistan’s Journey from the Ancient Silk Road to a Destination for Green innovation.” Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, discussed “Technological solutions and their role in Rwanda’s sustainability agenda,” and Petteri Urbo, Prime Minister of Finland, presented “A digital-frist approach to sustainable development: a model for global innovation.”
Two discussion sessions further enriched the dialogue. The first, titled “Association of Southeast Asian Nations and their Common Future: connecting Energy, Trade and Prosperity,” featured insights from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Razan Al-Mubarak, CEO and Managing Director of the Mohammed bin Zayed fund for the Conservation of Nature. The second session, “From Policy to Practice: Transforming global Trade to Sustainability,” saw New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon share his vision for sustainable global trade.
