Lhermenier’s curiosity about musical traditions led him to Calcutta in 2000,‌ where⁢ he met tabla‍ players at the Ti ⁤Kendalc’h cultural center in Saint-Vincent-sur-Oust. It was during this trip that he first encountered⁤ Shyam⁤ Sundar Goswami and ‍ learned about Raga, a melodic framework in Indian classical music. ‍

“It’s a very, very old music, ⁢of oral tradition, but scholarly, very rigorous,‌ dating back over 5,000 years,” Lhermenier explains. “The learning is very strict. ‌It ‍is music listened to by intellectual classes.” ⁢
