ISLAMABAD, January 12, 2025 — In a landmark move to address the pressing issue of girls’ education in Muslim societies, the Union of News Agencies of the OIC (UNA) signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Muslim World League on Sunday, January 12, 2025. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of His Excellency, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League and president of the Muslim Scholars association.
The memorandum was inked during the global conference titled “Education of Girls in Muslim Societies: Challenges and Opportunities,” hosted by the government of Pakistan and organized by the Association in Islamabad. The event saw extensive participation from regional and international organizations, underscoring the global commitment to this critical issue.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency mr. Mohammed Bin Abd Rabbo Al-Yami, Director General of UNA, and Councilor Abdul Karim Bakhsh, representing the Muslim World League.
